Problem

I was introduced to computers in a cyber cafe circa 2003. I saw that it was extremely difficult for cyber cafe admins to check the status of computers, and to lock/shut down.

Solution

I made a client-server application for remote control and monitoring of computers. While it was designed for a LAN, it could work over WAN using port forwarding.

Achievement

This was my first student project but it was robust, and the institute had me install it on their computers for their use. I won the first prize in the state-level tech fest, which boosted my confidence.
