About Kaushal
Kaushal Bhavsar is a technocrat and innovator in cybersecurity. Located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, he established Pratikar Technologies in 2009 as a student entrepreneur while pursuing an MCA at the renowned LD College of Engineering. At that time, he was providing consulting services for hacking investigation, malware analysis, etc.

Academic Achievements
Later, he joined Gujarat Forensic Science University (now known as NFSU) and became the first student to pass its maiden Certificate Diploma in CyberSecurity course. Meanwhile, he started teaching Network Security at Gujarat University. He was Gujarat's first and youngest faculty member to design the syllabus for Network Security, Web Security, and Information Security courses for PG Students. He also developed a Networking & Security Research Lab at Rollwala Computer Center, Gujarat University.

Entrepreneurial Journey
In January 2012, he quit his academic job to pursue full-time entrepreneurship and co-founded two award-winning SaaS products: Anatag and Bizmica. In December 2015, Kaushal founded BUGSKAN, a cybersecurity company building tools for secure application development. The first product was a cloud-based vulnerability scanner, followed by a cloud WAF platform. Both features were clubbed together under a Security-as-a-Service (SecaaS) platform BugShield.

Transition to Corporate Research
Despite the success of his entrepreneurial ventures, Kaushal decided to pivot his career toward deeper research in cybersecurity. The increasingly complex landscape of cyber threats demanded specialized expertise and institutional resources that were difficult to sustain as an independent entrepreneur. This led him to join GoDaddy, where he could work on larger-scale security challenges while having access to extensive data and resources.

PhD Research and Current Position
In 2021, Kaushal completed his PhD research focusing on insider threats in corporate environments. His dissertation explored detection methodologies, behavioral analysis patterns, and preventive frameworks that help organizations identify and mitigate risks posed by internal actors. This groundbreaking research has contributed significantly to the field of cybersecurity.
His contributions to application of machine learning in cybersecurity has led to development of a patent-pending invention for malware detection, and several tools to help security analysts fighting novel threats.
Currently, Kaushal serves on the Data Security Engineering team at GoDaddy, where he applies his expertise to protect sensitive customer information and strengthen the company’s security infrastructure against evolving threats.
