At the EChai Hackathon in 2014, my team — Manan Joshi, Snehil Jayswal, Palak Patel, and I — built SpyMail, an email open-tracking system. We won the hackathon.
SpyMail used tracking signals that suggest an email was opened. That is not the same as proving a specific person read the message end to end.
